Mobile Stacking Order
Stephanie Bartsch
It would be helpful to have the ability to control the order in which components stack for mobile. Currently, content stacks left to right, but that isn't always the most intuitive experience for users. E.g. on this page, (https://academics.d.umn.edu/accounting-bacc) mobile visitors see a video, nav buttons, and contact info before they learn anything about the program.
We could restructure the layout in desktop versions, but we like the feel of the desktop view and order as is…
I've worked in platforms with drag-and-drop ordering for both mobile and desktop views. Does that feature exist in Drupal currently that I'm not aware of? Or if not, it might be worth exploring as an enhancement.

Stephanie Bartsch Thank you for the feedback and for sharing the example page. You’re correct. Under the current setup in Drupal, there isn’t a built-in option to control the order in which components stack specifically for mobile. Content currently stacks left to right based on the desktop layout.
We understand how controlling the mobile stacking order could improve the user experience. We will keep an eye on future updates or enhancements that might allow this functionality.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention!

Dimitri Tadege, Great, thank you! This functionality would be really valuable as we continue to prioritize our mobile audience and their experience interacting with University of Minnesota website. One platform I've worked with previously is BeeFree (https://beefree.io/), which gives you full control (and really user-friendly drag and drop and preview options in the editing side) to customize the mobile experience of an email message separately from the desktop version. It allows us to optimize exactly how content displays on a phone versus a desktop with the ability to fine-tune design elements for each device in ways that can really improve the overall user experience. Anyhow, sharing ideas for future enhancements. Thanks for considering!
